Apart from developing the exhibition area, the Ferenc Nádasdy Museum considers the establishment of an appropriate environment for the artworks to be important. Further successful applications help the work in the Museum.

Through the subsidy of the National Cultural Fund we can not only restore artworks, but also improve the conditions of storing them. By supporting the application submitted by the Ferenc Nádasdy Museum the National Cultural Fund contributes to the renewal of certain artworks and the establishment of the proper artwork-friendly environment.

Sheraton bookcase
The artworks of Thomas Sheraton, one of the “big three” of English furniture makers, and his workshop are popular pieces of our exhibitions. The bookcase to be restored is an integral part of a set of parlour furniture and became part of our collection 1964. It has not been restored since that time. As the result of the works carried out through the subsidy the fully restored parlour set will be exhibited to the greatest joy of our visitors.

Hussar Uniforms
The Hussar Collection of the Ferenc Nádasdy Museum was established 1983 and has been grooving ever since through donations. 2014 we will launch works related to the uniforms. Nearly each uniform, be it in our inventory, or a part of our permanent exhibition, can be linked to a specific person playing an important role in both the history of the Hussars and Hungarian armed forces.
Certain pieces of the Hussar Collection of the Ferenc Nádasdy Museum are originals and preserving them is not only our interest and obligation, but we are also given the opportunity to present these objects in a way which is worthy of their history.

Containers with drawers
We will also purchase containers for the Numismatic Collection and the uniforms of the Hussar Collection in the Ferenc Nádasdy Museum. The new storage systems provide a more favourable environment for the artworks, enabling a long-term preventive protection.
It is a basic principle that protecting the objects starts at the way the items are stored.
