The continuously growing historic collection of our Museum does not only include local history memorabilia, but also objects of national importance.
The collection containing seven thousand objects consists of units that can well be separated from each other. The two thousand pieces strong badge, coin and medal collection came to us through purchasing. The vast majority is made up of memorabilia from World War I., yet there are also representatives of later periods. The most striking unit is the Belitska-Scholtz arms collection, enlisting almost all kinds of white arms and firearms. Weapons from the Balkans, sharp daggers, as well as helmets and their replica, serving ornamental purposes in castles, from the Middle-Ages and the New Age are especially remarkable. Another important unit is made up of objects recalling the firefighters’ past of the town, as well as memorabilia from the former retail life.
